As a weaned finisher, you’ll receive weaned / reared calves from our dedicated calf rearing team at 14-17 weeks of age. These calves are offered with an underwritten price contract.
Our UK network of specialist calf rearers rear calves to an agreed protocol for our supply chain, thus, you can confidently start the finishing stage with a consistent batch of healthy, well grown calves.
Before delivery to your farm at 130-150kgs, calves are weighed, graded and health checked by our experienced Tech Team. Only fit and healthy calves, meeting our weight-for-age specification are delivered. All cattle are vaccinated, dehorned and castrated with the exception of the Dairy Bulls destined for our Rosé Veal supply chain. These are left entire.
Our native cattle breed schemes incorporate a variety of farming styles and opportunities which can include store periods of grazing, traditional finishing and regenerative principles such as mob grazing.
We also offer native cattle breed schemes which require a store period of grazing following the rearing stage. The cattle would then enter the finishing period.
The benefit of working with the Buitelaar Group is you know how much the calves cost and you know what price you are going to get for your product from the moment the calf comes off the lorry as long as you hit the targets.
